I just had to share this exciting experience – I successfully full-cleared Blackfathom Deeps (BFD) on the very day I hit level 25. It all began after a challenging stint dealing with furbolgs in Ashenvale for a quest. The region resembled a war zone during the event, making corpse runs a frequent necessity. Amid the chaos, I reached level 25 and thought, “Maybe it’s time to check out the new raid and wrap up phase one.”

Returning to Stormwind, I surveyed the Auction House, only to find prices exceeding my meager 5g balance. Disappointed, I opted not to make any purchases. Turning my attention to the trade chat, I encountered the familiar elitist messages: “LFM BFD 7/7 must have pre-BiS, shadow pot req, whisper GS MS OS,” or some variation of it.

Assessing my gear – featuring drab shoulders, level 14 greens, a lone ring, and no blues except for my trusty Westfall staff – I realized my chances were slim. Nevertheless, a more modest LFM post caught my eye: “LFM BFD 7/7 need healer and DPS.”

I took a chance and sent a whisper: “Priest healer.” The response came quickly, “GS?” Oh no, not this again. I confessed truthfully, “I don’t have the addon, and my gear isn’t stellar. Missing a couple of slots. Let me know if you need me.”

A brief silence followed. Then, to my surprise, the invite appeared. I accepted and traveled to Ashenvale, where I was summoned without any comments on my gear. We ventured into BFD, and against the odds, I topped the healing meters as we cleared 7/7 in roughly two hours. Despite not receiving any loot, I managed to partake in the entire experience without negatively impacting the other nine participants.

What’s amusing is that when we defeated the final boss, at least four others expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thanks, this was my first run ever,” directed toward the druid raid leader who trusted me. I want to extend my appreciation for allowing me to delve into the full extent of Phase 1.
